ORIG DESCRIPTION* ORIGINAL DIAGNOSIS: Spores subcircular, inaperturate; multicellular, each cell possessing a long process; processes septate or aseptate, with pointed or blunt tips; wall psilate.

Monotypic.
COMMENTS* Phragmothyrites Edwards 1922, emend. Kar & Saxena 1976 is distinguished from the present genus by its well developed pseudoparenchymatous cells and in the absence of processes.
