SPECIES, AUTHORITY D. subaequatus Zhang Zhongying 1980, p. 297, pl. 1, fig. 4.
LOCATION Niubao Formation, Lunpola Basin, northern Xizang Plateau, Xizang, China.
ORIG DESCRIPTION* Inaperturate fungal spores consisting of two cells, outline of the spores elliptical and their size 7.4-15.5 x 16.7-27.4 µm (seven specimens). Individual cells subglobose and similar in size. External wall of spore 0.7-1.1 µm thick, surface psilate. One transverse septum is present; it is distinct, straight, and 1.4-3.3 µm wide. The spore is conspicuously constricted in the area of the transverse septum. Holotype 10.7 x 21.4 µm.
COMMENTS* As far as its external shape is concerned, this new species bears a close resemblance to Dicellaesporites granuliformis Sheffy & Dilcher (1971, p. 41, pl. 13, fig. 27; pl. 15, fig. 27). In the latter, however, the external wall has granulate ornamentation. Dicellaesporites levis Sheffy & Dilcher (1971, p. 41, pl. 13, fig. 25; pl. 15, fig. 25) is distinguished by its elongated elliptical outline, as well as the fact that the constituent cells are of markedly different size.
