SPECIES, AUTHORITY D. minutus Zhang Zhongying 1980, p. 300, pl. 1, fig. 8.
LOCATION Niubao Formation, Lunpola Basin, northern Xizang Plateau, Xizang, China.
ORIG DESCRIPTION* Fungal spores that consist of eight cells and bear two germinal apertures [terminal pores]; outline of the spores elongated elliptical, and their size 12.3-14.3 x 33.3-36.9 µm (three specimens). Individual cells with a somewhat rectangular shape, with the largest two of the cells being positioned in the middle of the spore. The apertures are located at the ends of the spore and protrude outward. External wall of the spore 0.5-0.7 µm, with a psilate surface. Seven transverse septa are observed; these septa are distinct and straight, and have a width between 0.7-1.2 µm.
COMMENTS* The spores of this new species bear some resemblance to those of Diporicellaesporites pluricellus Kar & Saxena (1976, pp. 11-12, pl. 3, figs. 35-36). The spores described here, however, are considerably smaller, and the two cells in the middle of these spores are much larger than the other cells.
