LOCATION Borehole in Jayamkondacholapuram (JC-12), 45 km south of Neyveli, Tiruchirapalli, Tamil Nadu, India.
ORIG DESCRIPTION* Fungal conidia with four processes. Main body rectangular to oval, 23-28 x 13-17 µm, multicellular, being divided by longitudinal and transverse ridges/furrows, spore wall up to 1 µm thick, conate, coni uniformly distributed. Processes septate, 35-117 µm long and 3-4.5 µm wide, number of septa in each process 2 to 5, psilate.
COMMENTS* The present species is distinguished from Frasnacritetrus taugourdeaui and F. conatus (Saxena & Sarkar, 1986) by its septate processes and multicellular conidial body. Frasnacritetrus spp. 1, 2 and 5 (Saxena & Sarkar, 1986) are distinguished in having 3 aseptate processes. Moreover, Frasnacritetrus spp. 1 and 5 have unicellular body. Frasnacritetrus sp. 3 (Saxena & Sarkar, 1986) differs from the present species by its longitudinal septa, granulate conidial body and septate basal part of the processes.
