LOCATION King George Island, Antarctica.
ORIG DESCRIPTION* Spores pyriform or cordate, one end broadly rounded, other end gradually tapering from central part and pointed; holotype 33 µm in length, central part 19 µm in width, pointed end about 4 µm in width; one pore, located at pointed end, simple, 2-3 µm in diameter; spore wall thick and very distinct around pore, about 1.5 µm in thickness; surface scabrate, or with dark spots; extrema lineamenta slightly uneven; spores black.
COMMENTS* Similar in general shape, thickness of spore wall, and pore structure to Lacrimasporonites levis Clarke (Sheffy & Dilcher 1971, p. 47. pl. 14, fig. 69), but differing from the latter in having scabrate and spotted surface.

Named for scabrate surface of spore.
