LOCATION Strip mine approximately 7 miles southwest of Rockdale, Milam County, Texas, USA.
ORIG DESCRIPTION* Spherical to subspherical, folded, psilate, monoporate fungal spore. Dimensions vary from 40 to 65 µm. Wall thickness 1.5 to 2 µm. Inner layer almost twice as thick as outer layer of wall. Wall darkly pigmented. Circular pore ca. 1.5 µm. Location of pore irregular due to random folding and compression of spore.
COMMENTS* Kedves (1961, pl. 2, fig. 1) illustrated a dark, spherical, folded spore with one prominent pore. The specimen is smaller than this species.
