SPECIES, AUTHORITY M. fusus (Ediger) Kalgutkar & Jansonius 2000
LOCATION Thrace Basin, Turkey.
ORIG DESCRIPTION* Inaperturate fungal spores of four cells, three septa. Fusiform shape, symmetrical around the long axis. Septa thick, perforated, the distance between septa is almost equal. Exine psilate to finely granulate. Dimensions: 9 x 30 µm.
COMMENTS* This species differs by its fusiform shape and the characteristics of the septa from other species of Multicellaesporites. A similar form described as Multicellaesporites sp. was reported by Rouse (1977) from Eocene sequences of British Columbia and Arctic regions. Kedves (1960) published similar forms from Eocene sediments of Hungary.
