SPECIES, AUTHORITY R. lunpolaensis (Song) Kalgutkar & Jansonius 2000
LOCATION Lunpola Basin, Xizang, China.
ORIG DESCRIPTION* Inaperturate fungal spores, 45.2 x 13.1 µm in size, consisting of four cells. The spores have a pointed, elongate fusiform outline; the terminal cells have an elongate triangular shape, the middle cells are rectangular. Spore wall 0.5 µm thick, smooth, often bearing fine longitudinal plications. The three septa are distinct, are 2.9-3.8 µm wide, and appear to be composed of two layers.
COMMENTS* Multicellaesporites fusiformis Sheffy & Dilcher 1971 [now: Pluricellaesporites malevisus nom. nov.] is smaller, has proportionally larger central cells [and here is considered to be monoporate].
