SPECIES, AUTHORITY A. septata Barghoorn, in Barghoorn & Tyler 1965, p. 576, fig. 3, part 2.
LOCATION 6.4 kilometers west of Schreiber, Ontario. (In India: Kushalgarh Formation, Ajabgarh Group, around Baraud Village, Alwar District, Rajasthan.)
ORIG DESCRIPTION* Salient characters as for genus. Possible specific description: Cell length, 1/6 to 1/ 10 the diameter of filament.

EMENDED DESCRIPTION (Mandal & Maithy, in Mandal, Maithy, Barman & Verma, 1984, p. 8): Sheath (without trichome) cylindrical, tubular, aseptate, unbranched, variously curved; surface smooth to granulose; apices broad, capitate to bluntly pointed.
COMMENTS* (Mandal & Maithy): The tubular cylindrical sheath from the Delhi Supergroup is much broader than that of the type specimen. The surface of the studied specimens show various surficial patterns from smooth to granulose. The granulose surface gives a pseudosepta appearance. Several specimens show the presence of apices that are variable in shape. This taxon is very common in the [Indian] assemblage.
