SPECIES, AUTHORITY
B. krempii (Varma & Rawat) Kalgutkar & Jansonius 2000
LOCATION
(Varma & Rawat) Western and eastern India, including oil exploration areas in West Bengal and Assam; geographically the areas are about 1440 km distant from each other.
ORIG DESCRIPTION
*
(Varma & Rawat): Pollen grains 2-porate, isopolar, bilateral (tapering towards either end), 20-26 x 36-49 x ca 23 µm. Pore areas about 8.6-10 µm in diameter. They have an opening which is not well defined but presumably circular (fig. 8a), about 2.9-4.3 µm in diameter. Base of the raised structure thickened, whereas the rest of the area is as thin and usually of the same color as the general body. Exine smooth, less than 1 µm thick. The grains are fragile and provided with numerous, more or less irregular folds.

K&J REMARKS
Elsik (1968) did not validly publish the new combination Diporisporites krempii, because he didn’t provide the basionym and bibliographic details. Elsik (1992, unpublished) included these spores in a new genus "Psilonites" (nom. nud.) with "P. californicus" (nom. nud.) as its type.
