ORIG DESCRIPTION

Spores broadly fusiform, holotype 100 x 43 µm. Spores unicellular, elongated, barrel-shaped, diporate, pores borne terminally; pores elevated by collar-like thickening, subtended by pore cells, with a slit-like space in the centre of the collar extending to the pore; pore structure about 15 µm in height, 25 µm in width, and 15-17 µm in diameter, edges of pores uneven. Spore wall more than 1 µm in thickness, surface smooth.

This species can be distinguished from other species of Diporisporites by its large size and special pore structure.
