SPECIES, AUTHORITY D. perelongatus Kalgutkar & Jansonius 2000
LOCATION Padappakkara, Quilon District, Kerala State, South India.
ORIG DESCRIPTION* Spores dicellate, fusiform and inaperturate. Size 41-50 x 14-17 µm. Cells gradually tapering at either end. Both spore wall and septum ± 1 µm thick. Spore wall smooth, light colored and folded. Septum centrally porate.
COMMENTS* The present species differs from Dicellaesporites popovii Elsik 1968 in having narrowly rounded ends. Dicellaesporites ellipticus Jain & Kar 1979 differs in larger size and ornamented wall. The present species shows resemblance to the conidiogenous axis [conidia?] of Dactylaria Saccardo (1880; fide Ainsworth et al., 1973).

K&J REMARKS Dicellaesporites elongatus Kumar was a junior homonym, and thus illegitimate; Kalgutkar and Jansonius (2000) propose a new name for it.
