LOCATION Padappakkara, Quilon District, Kerala State, South India.
ORIG DESCRIPTION* Fungal spores multicellate, diporate and fusiform in shape. Size range 38-42 x 22-24 µm. Spore gradually tapering at both ends. Central cells dark and larger in size (8-13 x 13-21 µm), apical cells smaller, hyaline, porate and delimited by a concave darker outline (septum). Spore wall thickest at the central septal region and smooth. Septum of central cell straight or disc-shaped, ± 3 µm thick with a central pore. Terminal pores ± 2 µm wide, pore margin thin and hyaline.
COMMENTS* Diporicellaesporites concavus differs from all other known species of Diporicellaesporites Elsik 1968 by having differentially colored thickened spore wall and concave septa.
