ORIG DESCRIPTION
*
Spores spindle-shaped, holotype 32 x 15 (at widest point) µm. Spores multicellular, holotype five-celled, tapering at both ends, slightly but distinctly constricted at the septa; septa four, discoidal, without septal folds. Pores terminal, small and simple. Spore wall about 1 µm in thickness, surface smooth.
COMMENTS
*
This species is similar to Diporicellaesporites stacyi Elsik, but differs in its rather flat cells, the septa having no septal folds, and smooth surface. The new species is also similar to Diporicellaesporites dolium (Early Tertiary palynology from the coast of the Bohai Sea [Ke & Shi, 1978], p. 49, pl. 5, fig. 21), but the spores in the latter are elliptical, wider and somewhat barrel-shaped.

K&J REMARKS
The single figure illustrated appears to have some longitudinal septa, subdividing the central three cells (that themselves are separated by two transverse septa).
