ORIG DESCRIPTION* ORIGINAL DIAGNOSIS: [combined description] Shaped like a tapered leaf; whole surface is covered with numerous spines of a little over 1 µm long; exine two-layered, a little more than 1 µm thick; surface chagrinate; size 27 x 21 µm. [Jansonius & Hills (1976), card no. 1029].
COMMENTS* Unlike any other described form; among the hystrichospheres a similar form is also not known. [Jansonius & Hills (1976), card no. 1029].

K&J REMARKS Potonié (1966, p. 199) quoted a letter from Sierotin that "possibly this is a microfossil that can be assigned elsewhere" [than in the flowering plants]. Possibly similar to Uncinulites baccarinii Pampaloni 1902?
