SPECIES, AUTHORITY
F. gunniae (Varma & Rawat) Kalgutkar & Jansonius 2000
LOCATION
Western and eastern India, including oil exploration areas in West Bengal and Assam; geographically the areas are about 1440 km from each other.
ORIG DESCRIPTION
*
Pollen grains 2-porate, isopolar, bilateral (21.5 x 40 x 21.5 µm). Pores projecting at both ends of the longest axis of the grains, circular (about 7.1 µm in diameter), with an outer opening (diameter about 4.3 µm) elevated by a collar about 1.5-2 µm high (the collar of the left, i.e. the smaller, pore, shows some darker areas towards the lumen of the grains; these do not, however, seem to indicate a morphological feature). A few folds may be present on the thin-walled body of the grain. Exine psilate, less than 1.4 µm thick.
