ORIG DESCRIPTION* Fungal spores multicellular, uniseriate, individuals consist of two to many cells; cells elongate, length variable, outline more or less rectangular, the area at the junction of the two cells swollen like a node; septa between the cells flat, smooth, thickness less than 1 µm; cell wall psilate, thickness about 1 µm. Size range: length of individual specimens 40-100 x 8-10 µm (holotype 70 µm); height of individual cells 10-70 µm.
COMMENTS* Pluricellaesporites nodosus can be distinguished from P. psilatus Clarke 1965 in having rectangular cells and lacking dentate septa. Name derivation: Latin nodosus = having knots.
