ORIG DESCRIPTION* ORIGINAL DIAGNOSIS: Individual conidia average 15-17 µm in length, 9-11 (but up to 14) µm in width; color mostly dark amber-brown, occasionally lighter; cell wall very thick. [Jansonius & Hills (1976), card no. 1218.]
COMMENTS* I propose the genus Haplographites for accommodating all fossil fungal spores that show such a similarity to spores of the living representatives of the grouping Haplographieae of Saccardo (particularly those of Haplographium and Dematium) that their affinity to this grouping appears probable.
