LOCATION Iceberg Bay Formation at Strand Fiord, Axel Heiberg Island, Northwest Territories, Canada.
ORIG DESCRIPTION* Conidia simple, smooth, tightly coiled in three planes to form an ellipsoidal (doliiform) to cylindrical spore body; filaments multiseptate, about 5 µm wide, fuscous; cells rectangular, not incurved at the septa, transverse pattern of minute, apparently internal striae commonly present. Conidia 50-75 x 37-45 µm.
COMMENTS* Helicoönites goosii appears more closely allied to species of Helicoön (Goos et al., 1986) such as H. richonis than to species of Helicodendron (Goos et al., 1985).
