K&J REMARKS
Salard-Cheboldaeff & Locquin (1980) assigned three species to the generic name "Hypoxylonites", but did not provide a diagnosis for this genus. Thus, the generic name was not validly published in 1980, and neither were the species then assigned to it. Dr. Salard-Cheboldaeff (e-mail to JJ, 99 01 13) kindly informed Kalgutkar and Jansonius that the type specimen is stored in the Laboratoire de Paléontologie, Muséum national d"Histoire naturelle, 8 rue Buffon, Paris 75005, France; she requested that the specific name be validly published in Kalgutkar and Jansonius 2000, under its previously published description.
