SPECIES, AUTHORITY I. giganteus Song Zhichen 1985, p. 42, pl. 2, fig. 15.
LOCATION Dafengshan, Qaidam Basin, Qinghai Province, China.
ORIG DESCRIPTION* Spore ovate, holotype 60 x 44 µm. Spore wall about 1 µm in thickness, layers of spore wall indistinct; surface scabrate or smooth, without distinct ornamentation. Spore wall easily fractured, usually with several fractures. Spore brownish black.
COMMENTS* Similar to Inapertisporites major Ke & Shi in large size of spores, but the latter species is nearly round in outline, and has a dense, thick and rigid spore wall.
