SPECIES, AUTHORITY I. foraminus Clarke 1965, p. 90, pl. 1, fig. 11.
LOCATION Canon City coal field, Fremont County, Colorado, USA.
ORIG DESCRIPTION* Fungal spores planispiral, individual cells lobate, 8-10 µm diameter, cell wall psilate, 0.5-1 µm thick, septa simple, about 1 µm thick, each cell connected by a 0.5 µm diameter opening through each septum, overall dimensions 28-36 µm.
COMMENTS* The name foraminus is given in reference to the resemblance of the species to planispiral foraminifera.
