K&J REMARKS The illustrations are mounted on four plates, and represent two slides, on which the various aspects are referred to as syntypes. They may all belong to the same specimen, and hence represent a holotype.

In their paper, the authors wrote the generic name both as "Molinea" and "Molinaea." Since it is named for Mr. E. Molina Echavarria, Kalgutkar and Jansonius (2000) consider the latter spelling to be correct, and the variant spelling a typographic error.
TYPE TYPE: Molinaea asterinoides Doubinger & Pons 1975, p. 151, pl. 2-5.
