ORIGINAL DIAGNOSIS: [combined description] Fungus saprophytic; hyphae septate, branched; conidiospores with thick stalks; conidia multicellular, dictyosporous and medium-thick walled, 12-40 x 16-28 µm; found in decaying tissue of the host.
COMMENTS
*
The various stages of conidial development are comparable to the living form Monodictys Hughes of Moniliales (Subramanian, 1971). The fungus also resembles the genera Piricauda and Stigmella of the same order but differs from them in not having a thin stalk for conidiospores. Moreover, these two genera have spores with lesser number of cells.
