LOCATION Piedras Negras, Coahuila State, Mexico.
ORIG DESCRIPTION* Unicellular, aseptate, monoporate fungal spore. The pore is 2 µm in diameter. The exine is 1 µm thick with light pigmentation. Oval perimeter with bilateral symmetry. Smooth ornamentation. Dimensions: 16 µm long by 10 µm wide.
COMMENTS* This new species has been named in honor of Dr. D.L. Dilcher, one of the pioneers in the study of fossil fungal remains.
