The present species can be distinguished from Monoporisporites buerglii van der Hammen 1954 and M. globosus Clarke 1965 as both the species are punctate. Monoporisporites annulatus van der Hammen 1954, M. stoveri Elsik 1968, M. koenigii Elsik 1968 and M. singularis Sheffy & Dilcher 1971 differ in being much smaller.
