K&J REMARKS
It appears that this name was not validly published because the author did not specify where the holotype is stored, and did not provide a Latin or English translation. (ICBN, Art. 36.3.)
The illustrated specimen is 62 x 26 µm, appears to have six cells, and at one (the distal) end is sharply tapered into a point, but at the other (proximal) end appears to have a hilum, possibly with a hyphal remnant attached. The epithet "spindlus" is a poor excuse for Latin -- the more classic form of the name would be "fusiformis" (=spindle-shaped).
