SPECIES, AUTHORITY P. intertrappeana Barlinge & Paradkar 1982, p. 166, pl. 1, fig. I.
LOCATION Mohgaonkalan, Chhindwara District, Madhya Pradesh, India.
ORIG DESCRIPTION* Asci 110-114 x 22 µm; ascospores 8, cylindrical, thick-walled, brown, elongated, slightly curved and 25-35 x 9.5-11.5 µm, end cells pale, central 1 or 2 cells [sic] enlarged. Host, decaying plant remains of Salvinia intertrappea.
COMMENTS* The absence of haustoria and the presence of decaying plant remains around the pycnidia affirm the saprophytic nature of this fungus. The resemblance is sought with the modern ascomycetous species Leptosphaeria salvinii Catt. Its asexual stage is also observed in the same rock. The specific name is after the bed from which the fossil is collected.

K&J REMARKS The description of "one or two enlarged central cells" appears to be in conflict with the illustration of this taxon.
