The present species resembles Aplanosporites robustus Kar 1979 in shape and general organization but can be differentiated by its smaller size-range, thinner exine and long hair-like delicate appendage, while the latter is bigger in size and has a robustly built, shorter appendage and thicker exine. Moreover, the present species lacks irregular exinal folds which occur in A. robustus.
