SPECIES, AUTHORITY P. minnesotensis (Rosendahl) Kalgutkar & Jansonius 2000
LOCATION Springfield, Minnesota, USA.
ORIG DESCRIPTION* Hyphae very tortuous and with few unilateral projections, yellowish brown, uneven in thickness, varying from 6.2 to 20.7 µm in diameter, stalks of the vesicles thin and mostly elongated, vesicles dark brown, short pyriform to nearly spherical, varying in size from 42 x 46 to 68 x 61 µm, average size 48 x 53 µm, walls of mature vesicles not perceptibly thicker at the base.
COMMENTS* The collection of this species is referable to Early Pleistocene, being obtained from dense peat on the contact line between Cretaceous shale and Nebraskan till at Springfield, Minnesota.
