LOCATION Harrisburg Quadrangle, Williamson County, Illinois, USA.
ORIG DESCRIPTION* Characteristics of the species those of the genus. Oval-spherical sclerotium measuring 0.75-1.20 mm in diameter. Hyphae of medulla much branched and septate, measuring 2-4 µm in diameter. Hyphae often exhibit short, bud-like branches. Spherical cavities present in medulla, containing amorphous contents, and measuring about 40 µm in diameter. Cells of cortex isodiametric or slightly radially elongated, measuring up to 26 x 14 µm. Rind 1-5 cells thick, cells exhibiting thickened walls, and measuring about 10 µm in diameter. External hyphae or fruiting structures unknown.
