ORIG DESCRIPTION* ORIGINAL DIAGNOSIS: Single coccoid, ovoid, or baccilum-like cells, or aggregates of such cells; beaded or non-beaded filaments, aseptate, 0.75-1.5 µm in cross-section and occurring on or within fossil spores.

K&J REMARKS Srivastava (1976) stated that the genus Annella differs from Palynomorphites Moore 1963 in its lack of continuous or long filamentous structures or mycelia. Annella has small, cylindrical bacillary hyphae that disintegrate after the development of the spherules.
