SPECIES, AUTHORITY P. putus (Ke & Shi) Kalgutkar & Jansonius 2000
LOCATION Panshan, Liaoning Province, Coastal region of Bohai, China.
ORIG DESCRIPTION* Spores 42 x 20 µm. One end of spore very slightly curved. Seven-celled, comparatively dark in color. Monoporate, pore situated at apex of smaller cell, not distinct owing to compressed state. Poriferous cell light-colored, spore wall very thin at this cell, about 0.5 µm thick. Six-septate, septa disc-shaped. Spore wall about 1.5 µm thick, two-layered, outer layer conspicuously thicker than the inner one, surface psilate.
COMMENTS* Spores in this species are distinguished from those in Involutisporonites wilcoxii Elsik 1968 (pl. 3, fig. 7) by their larger size, their greater cell number, the discoidal shape of their septa, and the considerable variation in the degree of curving their cells exhibit.
