SPECIES, AUTHORITY P. dentatus Trivedi & Verma ex Kalgutkar & Jansonius 2000.
LOCATION Near Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
ORIG DESCRIPTION* Fungal spores multicellular, individual spores consist of two to several cells, breadth of the individual cell in the spore wider than long, septa thick with prominent dents [sic; dentes=teeth?; septal folds?], dents triangular in shape, two dents in each septum, spore wall smooth, less than 1 µm thick, dark colored. Length of the individual spore ranges from 50-152 µm, breadth 16-39 µm, height of the individual cell 16-25 µm.
COMMENTS* Pluricellaesporites dentatus differs from P. psilatus Clarke 1965 in having prominent dentate septa, dentes triangular, two in number, and also in size. Septal opening in P. dentatus is narrow. The specific name dentatus is given because the spore shows characteristic dentate septa.
