K&J REMARKS Actually, the terminal cells at both ends appear to be light-colored and flattened, and, if so, the spore could be described as bihilate, and might be assignable to Diporicellaesporites. However, the photograph of the type does not show without ambiguity that the distal cell is flattened, or perforate. Kalgutkar and Jansonius (2000) therefore conclude that for now, the proper assignment is under Pluricellaesporites.
