LOCATION Puryear clay pit, one-half mile south of Puryear, Henry County, Tennessee, USA.
ORIG DESCRIPTION* Tricellate, psilate fungal spore 6.0 x 24.2 µm. Wall 1 µm thick, light pigment, two disk-shaped septa present. One end is highly tapered into a neck with a single pore.
COMMENTS* The specific name of the spore refers to the presence of a long terminal neck.

K&J REMARKS The specimen seems to be a tricellate, bihilate (biporate?) spore, with a fragment of a hypha (with two very small cells) attached at one (proximal?) end (described as the "terminal neck"). The spore is assignable to Diporicellaesporites.
