LOCATION Arabian Sea.
ORIG DESCRIPTION* Oval fungal spores, size range 15-23 x 10-13 µm; tetracellate, terminal cells smaller than those in centre; triseptate, septa 1.5-2.5 µm thick, thicker in centre; monoaperturate, pore apical, 3-5 µm in diameter; spore wall 0.5 µm thick, psilate.
COMMENTS* Pluricellaesporites melanii Elsik 1968 differs from the present species by having large (30 µm) basal chamber. Pluricellaesporites simplicissimus, P. subcapsularis, P. longicollus and P. minusculus, described by Sheffy & Dilcher (1971), can be distinguished by being tricellate. Pluricellaesporites ovatus and P. serratus described by Sheffy & Dilcher (1971) are pentacellate. Pluricellaesporites tenuis Sheffy & Dilcher 1971 is hexacellate; while P. suboblongatus Sheffy & Dilcher 1971 has a basal attachment.

Possible affinity: Curvularia sp.

Derivation of name: Named in honor of Prof. R.C. Misra. F.N.A., formerly Head of the Geology Department, Lucknow University, Lucknow.
