K&J REMARKS Reticulatisporonites is elongate, whereas Microretinites (Elsik 1992, unpubl.) is spherical.

Kalgutkar and Jansonius (2000) consider that there are insufficient grounds to separate this form from others in Monoporisporites, and therefore transfer the type to the latter genus. By implication, Reticulatisporonites thus is a junior synonym of Monoporisporites.
TYPE TYPE: Reticulatisporonites sperryi Elsik 1968, p. 274, pl. 2, fig. 16.
