LOCATION Quilon and Warkalli beds of Kerala State along the west coast of South India; locality: Alleppey.
ORIG DESCRIPTION* Spores light to dark brown, multicellular with 3-8 transverse septa, 110-130 µm long, apical part helical; septa very faint or almost absent in the helical region. Cell 10-13.5 x 5-7.5 µm. Wall two-layered, reticulate, coarsely so in the helical region, meshes hexagonal, lumina smooth.
COMMENTS* This species is named in honor of Dr. William C. Elsik of the Exxon Oil Company, Texas, USA.
