PUBLICATION REFERENCE
Dijkstra SJ. 1949. Megaspores and some other fossils from the Aachenian (Senonian) in South Limburg, Netherlands; Mededelingen van de Geologische Stichting, nieuwe serie, no. 3 (1948-1949), p. 19-32.
K&J REMARKS
Dijkstra described Spherites as incertae sedis. Sphaerites Unger 1850 is an older orthographic variant and these two names must be considered as "confusingly similar names" (ICBN, Art. 53.3), and hence treated as homonyms; Spheritesthus is an illegitimate name. [Jansonius & Hills (1977), card no. 3406.]
