PUBLICATION REFERENCE Sheffy MV, Dilcher DL. 1971. Morphology and taxonomy of fungal spores; Palaeontographica, Abt. B, v. 133 p. 34-51.
K&J REMARKS From the way the three globular elements constituting the type are packed together (not along a straight axis), and from the appearance of the Becke lines (occurring close to their margins), Kalgutkar and Jansonius (2000) believe that these objects may be solid, (rather than strongly pigmented), and possibly an incidental agglomeration of resinous spherules. T. semicircularis, however, is unquestionably of fungal origin.
TYPE TYPE: Tricellaesporonites triangularis Sheffy & Dilcher 1971, p. 48, pl. 16, fig. 75.
