Scroll down to view full descriptionDuties and Responsibilities:-Performing and designing assays to characterize interactions between collagen and Collagen Hybridizing Peptides (CHPs), as part of a research contract for a biotech company. Experiments involve a variety of biochemistry and biophysics assays that may include SDS-PAGE, plate-reader fluorescence and optical density measurements, and fluorescence microscopy measurements and analysis.
-Using instrumentation responsibly and keeping workspaces clean and organized.
-Documenting experimental designs, results and analysis.
-Communicating findings to supervisor, lab members and research sponsors, in oral and written format.
QualificationsRequired:
-Interest in protein biochemistry and biophysics.
-Quantitative skills, attention to detail, teamwork and strong communication skills.
Assets:
-Experience with relevant biochemical and biophysical experimental techniques.
-Current BSc student in a relevant field at SFU.
-Ability to start contract in August for training purposes, and available to extend contract into 2026 by mutual agreement.
